After training in theatre at Seattle’s Cornish College of the Arts, Kai moved to Tokyo where he kicked off his film career with a supporting role in Hitoshi Ohne’s “Tornado Girl”. He has recently been seen in the NHK 時代劇わげもん as Kichiji and has as a supporting role ヤーコプ in the NHK Taiga series “いだてん”. There will be 2 feature films released in 2024 where Kai plays the lead roles. Kai also works alongside fellow actor Nozomi de Lencquesaing as a directing duo nozosandy creating films and commercials based on their shared experiences growing up in Japan with a multicultural background.
